Superintendent Hathorn rehired

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown Board of Education approved the retire and rehire plan for Superintendent Doctor Connie Hathorn at a meeting Tuesday night.

A meeting was held earlier this month, to gather public input on the plan. Two people spoke and both recommended doctor Hathorn should stay in Youngstown.

According to our print partner, The Vindicator, Hathorn was rehired by a 5-2 vote.

Hathorn's contract runs for four years, paying him $119,000 a year; down ten percent from his previous salary of $132,000.

But Hathorn will be able to draw on his retirement plan.
