KENT, Ohio (AP) - Kent State University officials are raising tuition by 1.5 percent, joining most other Ohio public colleges that will slightly raise rates for the upcoming school year.

Trustees at the northeast Ohio university approved the hike Thursday - with all of the money going back into financial aid.

Kent was one of the last of Ohio's tax-supported universities to set tuition for the coming school year.

Cleveland State announced a 2-percent increase that will be rebated yearly to students who stay on track to graduation.

Ohio State, the University of Cincinnati and the University of Toledo are freezing tuition for the coming year.
