Ohio interstates increase to 70 mph

Posted: Updated:

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Starting Monday, many of Ohio's interstates will increase to 70 miles per hour.

On July 1, the speed hike goes into effect for 570 miles of interstate including Interstate 76 from Akron to Youngstown.

The increase was part of Governor Kasich's transportation bill, which is also expected to help create 65,000 new jobs, generate billions of dollars for roads and cap some tolls.
