Youngstown receives half million dollar rebate

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The city of Youngstown is more than half-a-million dollars richer.

The state Bureau of Worker's Compensation presented Mayor Chuck Sammarone with a check for more than 590-thousand dollars on Monday.

The money comes from the state's Billion Back Plan, which is a rebate program for all 210-thousand customers of Ohio's Bureau of Workers Compensation.

The plan includes both public and private employers who  pay into the  B-W-C fund.

The city can use the money as it wishes with no strings attached.
