Columbiana Fourth of July festivities draw day-long attention

Posted: Updated:

COLUMBIANA, Ohio - It was an all day affair for residents as they celebrated Independence Day.

Hundreds of people made their way to Firestone Park for the festivities, which began at 8:00 Thursday morning.

In addition to the planned activities, people were able to go to the pool for some fun. Crowds also gathered to listen to the Canfield Community Band.

"It is a good event for the town and the whole surrounding area, and I feel we have one of the best firework displays around. Phantom Fireworks helps us out because they originated outside of Columbiana," says Jack Guy of the Columbiana Chamber of Commerce.

Local corporate sponsors have helped the Chamber of Commerce host Fireworks at Firestone for more than 15 years.
