Convicted Youngstown street gang leader sentenced

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -  A convicted leader of a Youngstown street gang  has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

Mahoning County Common Pleas Judge Maureen Sweeney handed down the sentence Monday to Ruben Sanchez.

The 18-year-old was given a total of seven years on charges of having a weapon sunder a disability, felonious assault, participating in a criminal gang.

Three more years were added to the seven years for using a  firearm during the commission of  a crime.

Investigators say Sanchez was a leader of the H Block street gang on the city's south side.
