Greco hoping to open Browns training camp as a starter

Posted: Updated:

POLAND, Ohio - Boardman native John Greco is hoping to open training camp as a starter on the Cleveland Browns offensive line.

Last season was his most productive. He started 12 games and his versatility gives him a chance to play anywhere on the line.

Greco is in the final year of his contract and knows it's a big season for him and the team.

"Definitely something I have to go in and win. It's kind of kept under wraps, which is the way it should be. They promote competition and that's only going to make everyone around you better. That's the way I'm looking at it. I'm excited about the upcoming season. I think we have a talented team that was young a few years ago and now starting to mature. We're hungry for some wins. The new coaching staff is really pumped some energy into the building and we're hoping to electrify the fans," Greco said.

Greco was one of several pro celebrities participating in the 28th annual Circle of Friends golf scramble at the Lake Club in Poland. Funds generated from the event go primarily to the D&E Counseling Center which serves more than two thousand children annually in the area.
