Tree falls on Jeep and home in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - A tree fell on a Jeep and part of a home on the corner of Rosemont Avenue in Austintown Wednesday after severe storms came through the Valley.

The couple who lives in the home is safe.

The homeowner told 21 News his pregnant wife, Jeni Gates, just got out of the car before the tree struck their vehicle.

"All the sudden, we heard a bang and nobody knew what it was. We thought a tornado was coming through, so we all ran down to the basement. That's when I hurried up and called the fire department and we slowly came back up when they came and we saw that the tree had demolished my vehicle, my porch and hit the house," says Gates.
