Another break for grand jury in Ohio rape case

Posted: Updated:

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (AP) - An eastern Ohio grand jury is taking another break in its investigation into whether more laws were broken in the rape of a 16-year-old girl.

Ohio Attorney General's office spokesman Dan Tierney said Wednesday the panel has suspended work until Aug. 12 after meeting the first two days of this week.

1 of the key issues before the panel meeting in Steubenville is whether adults who are required to report crimes knew early on of the rape last August but didn't say anything.

A judge in March convicted two high school football players of raping the West Virginia girl after an alcohol-fueled party last summer.

Attorney General Mike DeWine has said nothing is off the table for the grand jury.
