Our Lady of Mount Carmel kicks off festival in Niles

NILES, Ohio - A Niles parish will celebrate its 80th annual parish festival with some popular traditions and a few new additions.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, located at 381 Robbins Avenue, will hold a bocce tournament and wine tasting contest for the first time in festival history.  The festival will also include a number of rides, games and a wide variety of classic festival foods.

The festival runs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Weekend festival hours are from 3 p.m. To 11 p.m.

    A Warren woman faces child endangering and animal cruelty charges after police were called to her home to investigate a report of a child left alone.On Wednesday, police, Trumbull County Children's Services and the County Dog Warden were called to the 2900 block of Van Wye Street SE.Police say that Children's Services removed three children from the home.
