Valley entrepreneurs launch new social media business

Posted: Updated:

A couple of young Valley entrepreneurs have launched a new company designed to help small businesses navigate the world of social media.

The company assumes the task of developing and managing on-line marketing tools.

Nathan Dukes and partner Megan Roberts call their new business "Identity Blend."

They say participating in social media isn't an option for businesses anymore; to maximize business opportunities it's become an absolute necessity, but it's not always easy for small businesses.

"While they're the ones who can benefit the most from social media, they're the ones who really don't have the time or effort or energy to really put in to make social media a really successful marketing option for them," says founder Dukes.

In today's online world of Twitter following and Facebook liking, people are constantly talking about and sharing information about businesses and products.

"Word of mouth is the most powerful tool that small business owners can really tap into, and that's all moved online now with social media," Dukes says.

Identity Blend offers package deals starting at about $100 per month to manage online marketing, which includes 24/7 monitoring and weekly progress reports.

"The business owner can be involved as little or as much as they want in the whole process, but we like to say we manage your social media, then you can manage your business," says Dukes.

Identity Blend hopes to grow it's client list and be able to expand it's office space and hire more people.
