Browns agree with G John Greco on 5-year deal

CLEVELAND (AP) - The Browns have agreed to terms with guard John Greco on a 5-year contract.

Greco started a career-high 10 games last season for Cleveland, filling in at left guard after Jason Pinkston was hospitalized with blood clots in his lungs. Greco did not miss an offensive snap over his first nine starts.

Browns CEO Joe Banner said 1 of the team's goals is to "develop and keep our own players" and was glad to reach a deal with Greco.

Coach Rob Chudzinski called Greco "a solid, all-around teammate, on and off the field."

The 6-foot-4, 315-pound Greco was part of an offensive line that helped running back Trent Richardson rush for a franchise rookie record 950 yards last season.

Greco, who is from Youngstown, Ohio, and played at Toledo, was drafted by St. Louis in 2008. The Browns acquired him in a 2011 trade.
