New poll shows congress approval rating at an all time low

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, shows congress' approval rating, is at an all time low.

Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown says he believes the unhappiness stems from partisan bickering in the House of Representatives.

"We're seeing that in the senate. We're seeing bipartisan support on issues. We're simply not seeing that in the house of representatives," Brown said.  "When one political party wants to make it all about politics all the time and wants to point fingers all the time. So the public just throws its hands up and says 'A pox on both your houses."

Despite the numbers, the poll shows an even split among party preference.
Forty-four percent say they prefer a Democratic congress and 44 percent favor Republicans.
