Youngstown charter school hosts back-to-school carnival

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - In just a few short weeks school will be back in session and kids at Stambaugh Charter Academy in Youngstown are getting ready in style.

A back-to-school carnival offered tours of the school and free hair cuts.

"In the past three years we have made significant improvement on our test scores," said Alan Harper with the Stambaugh Charter Academy. "We're not where we need to be; however, we're excited about the potential that we've shown and joy for that potential and growth.

Stambaugh Charter Academy is a tuition-free public charter school for students in kindergarten through the eighth grade. Students begin class on August 22.
