Cyclist take part in fundraiser in honor of man who loved biking

CHAMPION, Ohio - Cyclist's took to the Western Reserve Greenway bike path on Saturday afternoon in honor of a man who loved biking that trail.

Larry Furniss was killed three years ago after a car hit him on his bicycle while he crossed Housel Craft Road in Bristolville on the bike path.

This is the third year family and friends have gotten together at the Sunside Trail on the bike path in Champion Township to ride in Larry's memory and support bike safety.

Larry's son, Brian Furniss, says the event helps with maintenance and with continuing the bike path through Austintown.

About 40 cyclists to part in the fundraiser and raised $2,000 for the bike path.
