Newton Falls looking for documentation to declare disaster

Posted: Updated:

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - City officials are hoping to catch the attention of FEMA.

They're encouraging anyone with pictures of damage from the recent flood event to attend an informational session Thursday.

City manager Jack Haney hopes the photos will help build a case for the city since a disaster has never been declared.

"When we look at compiling applications for any future funding, it's that we need documentation. Documentation is one of those thing we have to have," says Haney.

The meeting will take place at 6:00 Thursday evening at the Newton Falls Community Center. Topographical maps will be on hand for residents.
