Howland's Miss Ohio previews pageant gown

Posted: Updated:

NILES, Ohio - She could be the next Miss America, and Friday night she offered a sneak peek at what she'll be wearing in the big pageant.

A send-off party was held for Miss Ohio at Aulizio's  banquet center in Niles.

It was the final valley public appearance for Heather Wells before she heads to Atlantic City for the Miss America Pageant in three weeks.

Wells showed off the dress she will be wearing for the competition.

She says she's practicing her interviewing skills, since she believes Miss America is won during the question and answer portion of the pageant.

"Judges want to hear about our personal platforms because it's what makes us unique. So working with divorce and children overcoming those obstacles is what I've been focusing on from now until September 15th." said Wells.

Heather is a Howland high school graduate.

Money raised at Friday night's send off will be used for her travel expenses.
