Police use taser on Farrell man wanted for marijuana charge

FARRELL, Pa. - A Farrell man faces drug charges after police say they found three pounds of marijuana in his car.

Southwest Regional Police say that Lawrence Owens, 55, was arrested last Saturday around 8:45 p.m. on an existing warrant for marijuana possession and intent to manufacture or deliver.
 
The warrant issued by state police stated that on August 19, Owens was pulled over on a traffic stop when a police K9 detected the odor of marijuana in the vehicle. Police say they eventually discovered three pounds of Marijuana in zip lock bags in his car.

During the execution of the search warrant, Owens was reportedly uncooperative with police, who eventually had to tase him into submission.
