Bridge open to traffic in Hartford Township

HARTFORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A federal funded bridge replacement wraps up in northern Trumbull County.

The bridge connecting Five Points-Hartford Road is now open to traffic.

The improvements to the bridge are a relief for motorists here who often travel the roadway.

The bridge is now wide enough for two vehicles to use the bridge at the same time.

"It being narrow was always dangerous because you wouldn't know which car was going to stop first," says Bob Nemeth, a resident in the township.

Eighty percent of the costs to widen and replace the bridge was covered by federal dollars while the remaining expenses were covered through the Ohio Public Works Commission.
