Reward increased for killer of Cleveland nurse

Posted: Updated:

CLEVELAND (AP) - A reward has been doubled to $50,000 as police try to solve the March fatal slaying of a nurse on a downtown Cleveland street.

The Plain Dealer in Cleveland reports that the daughter of 53-year-old Aliza Sherman on Tuesday announced the increase in the reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Sgt. Dave Rutt of the Cuyahoga County Crime Stoppers says it's the largest reward in recent memory. He says the sheriff's department has received numerous tips, but it has not been able to get something concrete.

Sherman was a Cleveland Clinic fertility nurse and mother of 4. She was stabbed 11 times on the afternoon of March 24 outside her divorce attorney's office downtown. She still had her purse, and her SUV was parked nearby.
