Austintown daycare worker in court for child pornography

Posted: Updated:

AUSTINTOWN TWP., Ohio - The Mahoning County Grand Jury will now decide if there is enough  evidence to put a former daycare worker on trial to face child pornography and rape charges.

43-year-old Connie Ramirez of Austintown Township was arrested last week by agents from the Ohio Attorney General's office.

Her case was bound  over to the grand jury after she appeared in court Wednesday on charges that include rape, gross sexual imposition, pandering obscenity involving a minor, and possession of criminal tools.

Authorities say Ramirez's alleged victim was not a child at the facility where she worked.

Ramirez remains jailed on a half-million dollar bond.
