Man buried in wrong plot in Vienna cemetery

Posted: Updated:

VIENNA, Ohio - A Trumbull County family claims a cemetery buried their loved one in the wrong place.

Crown Hill Burial Park agreed to cover the costs to move Frank Campbell to his correct grave site.

Today, his coffin was moved to a plot under his name where the family says they intended for him to rest in peace.

Campbell's daughter, Marie Wallace, says her mother and the rest of the family should not have to grieve all over again.

"That was not dad's wishes - and for her to go through this again - she's going to be 80 years-old pretty soon," she says. "This is really hard on her and it's a trickle down effect. Losing dad for her was hard."

A cemetery spokesperson tells 21 News that a preliminary test of the plot indicated there might have been another vault at his intended lot.

The spokesperson says incidents like this happen from time to time due to an outdated paperwork system.
