Convicted killer of Youngstown infant guilty in another murder

Posted: Updated:

JEFFERSON, Ohio - A Youngstown man already on Ohio's death row, has been convicted for the 1997 killing of an Ashtabula man.

Following his trial in Ashtabula County Common Pleas Court, John Drummond Junior was found guilty of aggravated murder, kidnapping, and gun specifications.

He faces a minimum of 28 years to life in prison at his sentencing Friday.

Drummond was previously sentenced to death for the 2003 shooting death of a three month old boy in Youngstown.

However a federal appeals court has ruled that Drummond should receive a new trial for that case.
