Man robbed at gunpoint on Hermitage street

HERMITAGE, Pa. - Police are looking for a suspect who robbed man at gunpoint early Thursday.

According to a news release from Hermitage Police, a man walking in the area of Mercer Avenue and Rombold Road just before 1 a.m. was approached by a man who asked to use his cell phone to call for a ride.

The victim tells police that the man first pretended to dial a number on the phone, but then pulled a gun and demanded money.

The robber took a wallet and a bag containing DVD's that the victim was carrying.

Police released a description of the suspect:

  • Black male
  • Thin to average build
  • Age unknown
  • Neatly cut hair
  • Black hoodie
  • Blue jeans

The suspect was last seen entering a vehicle described as an older gray or silver car that was in poor condition with a piece of plastic covering the driver's window.
