NESHANNOCK, Pa. - An elderly woman who was reported missing Thursday afternoon in Lawrence County has been found.

According to police, Betty Richardson, 77, disappeared around midnight Thursday at her home on the 200 block of Catalina Drive in Neshannock Township.

She suffers from dementia and diabetes.

She lives with her son and future daughter-in-law. They reported her missing at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

A fire department and a K9 unit helped to search for her.

Pennsylvania State Police also helped with the search.

Richardson's son and daughter-in-law installed an alarm on her bedroom door, but did not hear it go off around the time she wandered off.

He said he saw a news report saying that she was missing, and found her lying in the grass near the woods behind his home.
