YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A mayoral candidate has been jailed since his arrested last week, unable to post a $7,000 bond.

According to a police report, John M. Crea, 45, was arrested on West Federal and Hazel Streets for disorderly conduct and aggravated menacing.

The police report says Crea was standing with his dog in front of City Hall when a security guard asked him to move.

Crea allegedly began yelling and cursing at the guard, threatening to release his dog on the guard and kill him.

Crea pleaded not guilty on Tuesday in Youngstown Municipal Court.

His pretrial is set for September 19.
