Sentencing for Sebring man caught in sexting sting

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Sebring man has been sentenced to five years community controlled probation after he was caught in an underage sex sting in June.

Last month, 28-year old Joshua Reynolds pleaded guilty to soliciting sex from someone he thought was a 12-year old girl.

The 12 year old was actually a decoy, but authorities say Reynolds still tried to set up a time to meet the girl who he thought was only in the seventh grade.

The texting incident happened in June.

Judge John Durkin also sentenced Reynolds to perform 100-hours community service, continue to receive counseling, and register as a tier one sex offender.

Reynolds has no other criminal history.
