DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A southeastern Pennsylvania teenager says he was racing at speeds approaching 150 mph when he crashed with another teenager last March.
Eighteen-year-old John Anton appeared in Bucks County Juvenile Court in Doylestown Friday. He was sentenced to probation.
Anton was 17 at the time of the March 2 crash on Route 611 in Doylestown, less than a mile from the site where a 9-year-old girl was killed by another street racer months before.
The Intelligencer of Doylestown (http://bit.ly/155mFyx ) reports that Anton, now a Penn State student, apologized in court. He's agreed to testify at the upcoming trial of 21-year-old Jeff Bender, who police say was racing Anton. Their cars collided and Bender suffered a severe head laceration and gouged skull.
