Grocery chain offers free antibiotics

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Giant Eagle is again offering select, generic oral antibiotics free of charge to customers at it's in-store pharmacies now through the end of February.

According to a news release, customers will need a qualifying physician's prescription and a Giant Eagle Advantage Card.

The company will provide up to a 14-day supply of the following generic oral antibiotics free of charge:

  • Amoxicillin
  • Ampicillin
  • Cephalexin
  • Ciprofloxacin
  • Generic Bactrim ™
  • Penicillin VK

There are no limits on the number of prescriptions that can be filled, and it includes both new prescriptions and refills.

The release also says Giant Eagle customers can earn fuel perks on Medicare prescriptions.
