AUSTINTOWN TWP., Ohio - The Mahoning Valley 9-11 Committee will hold an event tonight commemorating the 12th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and those aboard flight 93.

The observance will be held at the Mahoning Valley Memorial Park at 1055 South Raccoon Road in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks.

The tribute is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. this evening. It will include speakers from the New York Fire Department, a flag folding ceremony, the ringing of the memorial bell, a fly over and music from a pipe and drum corps.

Several artifacts will also be on display, including a fire truck that was destroyed in the attacks, steel from the World Trade Center, pieces of the Pentagon, and soil brought from the flight 93 crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

21 News will provide a live stream of the event on our website. For more information about the Mahoning Valley Memorial Park, click on this link.
