2014 candidates for Ohio statewide offices

More than a year before the November 2014 election, here are candidates and challengers announced or expected to run:

GOVERNOR:

John Kasich (Republican). Incumbent governor, former congressman, author, investment banker, FOX News commentator, and state legislator.

Ed FitzGerald (Democrat). Cuyahoga County executive, former FBI agent and assistant county prosecutor.

ATTORNEY GENERAL

Mike DeWine (Republican). Incumbent attorney general, former U.S. senator, Ohio lieutenant governor and prosecutor.

David Pepper (Democrat). Lawyer, former Cincinnati councilman and Hamilton County commissioner.

SECRETARY OF STATE

Jon Husted (Republican). Incumbent secretary of state, former Ohio House Speaker, state representative and state senator.

Nina Turner (Democrat). State senator, former Cleveland councilwoman and lobbyist for City of Cleveland and Cleveland schools.

AUDITOR

Dave Yost (Republican). Incumbent auditor, former county prosecutor and journalist.

John Patrick Carney (Democrat). Lawyer and three-term state representative.

TREASURER

Josh Mandel (Republican). Incumbent treasurer, lawyer, former state representative and Lyndhurst councilman. U.S. Marine veteran.

Connie Pillich (Democrat). Lawyer and three-term state representative. U.S. Air Force veteran.
