Browns offense not same without WR Josh Gordon

Posted: Updated:

BEREA, Ohio (AP) - The Browns insisted they would survive without wide receiver Josh Gordon. They found out in their first game it won't be so easy.

Without Gordon, Cleveland's offense lacked a deep threat on Sunday in a 23-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins, who didn't have to worry about his size and speed. The second-year receiver is serving a 2-game suspension for violating the NFL's drug policy and won't be back until Week 3. He'll also miss this Sunday's game in Baltimore, so the Browns will need their other receivers to step up and make plays.

Browns coach Rob Chudzinski is confident he has enough playmakers to offset the absence of Gordon, who caught 50 passes and scored five touchdowns as a rookie last season.

Quarterback Brandon Weeden, too, believes in Cleveland's receiving corps.
