$2,500 bond set for Springfield Township man arrested after manhunt

Posted: Updated:

CANFIELD, Ohio - A judge in Mahoning County court has set bond at $2,500 for a Springfield Township man who was the subject of a manhunt in Youngstown early Thursday.

Authorities say 44-year-old Eric Stanislaw bolted from a Beaver Township police cruiser as he was being taken to the Mahoning County Jail.

Police say Stanislaw kicked the window out of the cruiser when it had stopped at a red light on South Avenue in Youngstown.

He surrendered to authorities later in the day, accompanied by his attorney.

Stanislaw pleaded not guilty to operating a vehicle while impaired, vandalism and escape.

His pre-trial hearing is scheduled for October.
