YSU nationally recognized among similar colleges and universities

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown State University ranks among the top third of similar universities and colleges nationally in Washington Monthly's 2013 College Guide and Rankings.

According to a release, the magazine's rankings, now in their ninth year, list schools based on the social mobility of their students, research and community service.

YSU ranks 208th among 684 master's degree-level colleges and universities included in the report.

YSU is 93rd among 265 master's-level public universities and colleges.

The ranking comes on the heels of Forbes magazine including YSU as one of America's Top Colleges for 2013.

YSU also recently placed 21st among nearly 400 post-secondary institutions in Ohio for providing the greatest lifetime return on investment in a report released earlier this summer by AffordableCollegesOnline.org.

In addition, a study by OnlineCollegesDatabase.org ranked YSU's Beeghly College of Education as one of the nation's top 40 schools for teacher education.
