NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - Two people are under arrest for allegedly making methamphetamine in a Newton Falls neighborhood.

A news release from the Trumbull, Ashtabula, Geauga Law Enforcement Task Force says 48-year-old Raymond Grimes and 25-year-old David Reed were arrested on Tuesday. Grimes is charged with illegally manufacturing drugs in a school zone.  Reed is charged with illegal manufacturing of drugs.

Newton Falls police say the two men were spotted disposing methamphetamine by-products in a dumpster behind a local business.

The contents of the bag found in the dumpster included a plastic bottle, plastic tubing, a battery, cold packs and coffee filters.

Investigators also searched an apartment at 77 Bridge Street, were Grimes resided.

Inside the residence investigators found suspected Meth Oil, Muriatic Acid, Lye, plastic tubing and drug paraphernalia.

A nearby complex on Bridge Street was evacuated while hazmat specialists were called to safely remove the items from the dumpster.
