GIRARD, Ohio - St. Rose School concludes its 100th anniversary celebration with several events being held at the end of the month.

On Thursday, a pep rally will be held at the school for the upcoming football game.

A luncheon will be held in Rosetta Hall on Friday for past and present teachers of the school and the current eighth grade class. These students will be the 100th graduating class.

"Not many catholic schools in the diocese of Youngstown can boast a hundred years and still going strong," said Linda Borton, St. Rose Principal.

On Sunday, the school will host an open house from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

A mass will follow at 3 p.m. at the St. Rose Church with Reverend George Murray.

At 5 p.m. a dinner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Hall in Youngstown will take place with a car raffle during the dinner.

The parish was a little more than 20 years old when the school opened in 1913. The purpose was to educate children and participate in the Catholic faith. The new school opened in 1956.
