Great Groceries: Whole Wheat Pasta with Tomato & Apple Sauce

Whole Wheat Pasta with Tomato & Apple Sauce

2 Tbsp. butter

1 onion, diced

2 stalks celery, diced

3 medium apples

2 tsp. lemon juice

1 jar Gia Russa Low Sodium Tomato Basil or Low Sodium Marinara

8 oz. Gia Russa Whole Wheat Thin Spaghetti

Salt and pepper to taste

Romano cheese for topping

Prepare Whole Wheat pasta to package directions.

In a sauté pan, melt the butter. Add onions and celery and cook until tender. Core the apples, wedge and small dice or shred in food processor. Add apples and continue cooking until apples are tender. Add Gia Russa sauce and pasta; mix well and toss for 2 minutes in sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste, if needed. Serve immediately and garnish with Gia Russa Romano cheese and parsley flakes.
