SOLON, Ohio - A defense attorney entered a not guilty plea for former Boardman High School and Browns football standout Bernie Kosar.

Attorney George Simon entered the plea in Bedford Municipal Court on behalf of Kosar, who is charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and speeding.

Kosar was charged over the weekend after Solon Police detected the odor of alcohol when they pulled Kosar's car over.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Kosar on December 9.

The 49-year old Mantua, Ohio resident was a standout quarterback for Boardman High School, the Miami Hurricanes and Cleveland Browns.
