BOARDMAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper is being held for observation in a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The trooper was injured late Wednesday morning after her cruiser was involved in a collision with two other cars at U.S. Route 224 and Market Street.

The drivers of the other two vehicles, 85-year-old Margaret Holmes and 48-year-old Lisa Brown, both of Youngstown, were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

She was responding to a head on crash involving two S.U.V.'s at 224 and South Avenue.

Investigators say a child was hurt in the two-vehicle accident but injuries are minor.

Traffic was diverted along 224 near the Southern Park Mall while authorities conducted their investigation.
