STONEBORO, Pa. - A six day search for the body of a missing Sandy Lake man has ended.

A news release from the Stoneboro Fire Department says that the body of 29-year old Jason Mathieson has been recovered from Stoneboro Lake.

Mathieson had been missing since early Friday when the canoe he was in capsized, throwing him and two companions into the water.

Mathieson did not make it back to shore.

Searchers utilized a helicopter, sonar, boats and a dive team in their efforts to find Mathieson's body.

On Sunday, family, friends and volunteers joined the search effort.

Fire officials say Mathieson's body was recovered at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. His body was located under 20 feet of water using an underwater camera operated by friends of the family.
