Youngstown's first Beer Fest draws a crowd

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - More than 200 craft beers were served at Youngstown's first annual Beer Fest.

Guests of the event at the Covelli Centre Saturday, took their taste buds for a test drive by enjoying beer samples.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Golden String Inc. in the city. The organization provides respite staffing, vocational training and social opportunities for those in need.

"They help adults with disabilities, transportation and life skills in Trumbull, Columbiana and Western Pennsylvania, it's a great organization and a great cause," Dominic Gatta says, event organizer.

Beer Fest patrons went home with commemorative taster mugs.

Organizers expect close to 2,000 people were in attendance.
