Pole snaps, leaving homes and businesses without power in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - First Energy says 184 of homes and businesses lost power in a portion of Austintown Wednesday morning after a utility pole snapped near Meridian Road.

A First Energy spokesperson tells 21 news that the pole was struck near a construction area on the 3800 block of Crum Road.

Traffic was blocked to the area while crews made repairs.

First Energy says power was restored to all but 54 of the customers by 5:00 p.m..

The utility expected everyone to have their power back by 6:30 p.m.
