YSU honors generous alumnus

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown State University is recognizing one of it's alumni who is giving something back to the university in a big way.

Andrew and Katherine Glinatsis Kartalis presented YSU with a $525,000 gift that will be split among an endowed scholarship, the Veterans Resource Center and the Williamson College of Business Administration.

As a show of appreciation, on Thursday the university dedicated the Katherine Glinatsis Kartalis Team Room in the Williamson College of Business Administration.

The Team Room, on the second floor of the College, provides dedicated and quiet space for student group study and other interaction, such as group meetings for planning or preparation of class presentations.

Katherine Glinatsis Kartalis is a 1959 business education graduate of YSU. After traveling the world with her husband who was a career Naval officer, the Kartalises settled in the Cleveland area with their two daughters.

As a result of their philanthropy, the Kartalises will become members of the YSU President's Council.
