Lisbon man sentenced for seven counts of animal cruelty

Posted: Updated:

LISBON, Ohio - A judge orders a Lisbon man convicted of animal cruelty charges to perform community service for the Humane Society and to undergo counseling.

69-year-old Thomas Henry was found guilty of seven counts of animal cruelty in Columbiana County Municipal Court on Thursday.

Earlier this year, humane agents found several animals, including chickens, goats and a calf living in deplorable conditions on property at Henry's Shady Lane home.

There was no food or water for the animals, and some were found dead.

The judge suspended a 90-day jail sentence if Henry performs 30 hours of community service for the Humane Society and undergoes mental health counseling.

Henry was also fined $140.
