WARREN, Ohio - After being in recess over the three day Columbus Day weekend, trial is scheduled to resume this morning for a Warren man accused of murdering his parents in 2011.

33-year-old Louis Mann allegedly murdered his parents Fran and Philip Mann at their Jefferson Street home in Warren. Investigators say Mann's father was beaten and shot in the head and his mother was strangled with a clothesline.

The day after the victims were discovered in the home, the father's car was located at a motel in Howland and that's where Mann was taken into custody. He was taken to police headquarters for questioning. The interrogation was videotaped and that video was played on a large screen in the court room on the first day of testimony.

Detectives say the tape shows Mann breaking down in tears and confessing to the murders.

Mann's lawyers have indicated they do not plan to call any witnesses, but if the verdict is guilty they will present arguments in mitigation to spare Mann from a death sentence.
