Authorities seek help identifying body found on Youngstown's west side

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying what will likely turn out to be a murder victim.

At around 9:00 a.m. Monday, a city police officer discovered the body of a woman in a vacant lot on West Avenue across from the water department.

Coroner's investigator Dr. Joseph Ohr tells 21 News that an autopsy will be conducted Tuesday morning, but says that the victim had been stabbed several times.

Dr. Ohr says police could find no form of identification on the body and has issued a description of the victim, asking the public to help identify the woman.

  • White
  • Approx. age: 20's or 30's
  • Height: 5' 9"
  • Weight: 140 lbs.
  • Hair: Wavy dark brown hair to middle of back. Dark alligator clip decorated with flowers
  • Eyes: Green
  • Teeth: Good condition
  • No scars or tattoos
  • No nail polish
  • Jewelry: Key on silver metal chain link necklace
  • Clothing: Black bra and dark panties
