Survey will assess a sense of community within Mosquito Lake

Posted: Updated:
CORTLAND, Ohio - The Mosquito Lake Greenway Project is conducting a short survey to assess a sense of community within the Mosquito Lake communities (Cortland, Bazetta Twp. and Mecca Twp.), the perception of their development potential and awareness of the Mosquito Lake Greenway Project.

According to a release, the results of this survey are to serve as a baseline.

When the Project conducts a re-survey in the future, they hope to have data on the positive effects their work has had on building community.

That data should also help position the project for funding.

The Project is looking for a sampling from the Mosquito Lake Communities, Trumbull County, and anyone who has lived in or is familiar with the area.

The survey was constructed with the help of Dennis Blank of Warren Expressed who conducted a similar survey for the city of Warren with results being published in January of 2012.

The Mosquito Lake Greenway Project proposes encircling the Southern part of Mosquito Lake with a greenway to be used by pedestrians and bicyclists.

A greenway is essentially a linear park that commonly has a paved section.

Plans include connecting to the Western Reserve Greenway which is the Trumbull County section of the Great Ohio Lake to River Greenway that runs between Ashtabula and East Liverpool, OH.
