YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Mahoning County Common Pleas Judge Maureen Sweeney has vacated her earlier decision and has reinstated murder charges against Paul Brown.

Brown is accused of murdering 17-year-old Ashten Jackson in 2009.

Judge Sweeney dismissed murder charges against Brown in September after his attorney claimed someone tampered with evidence that was being held by Youngstown Police.

After a hearing on Tuesday where the Judge heard the findings of a Youngstown Police investigation, and analysis by the attorney general's office, Judge Sweeney concluded she was provided misinformation and decided to reinstate the charges against Brown.
