End of government shutdown brings reopening of Warren veterans center

Posted: Updated:

WARREN, Ohio - A Warren veterans center is up and running again now that the government shutdown has ended.

The resource center is located inside the First United Methodist Church on Park Avenue.

Organizers of the government funded program, are spreading the word their doors are open again.

A ready workforce program assists veterans with job placement in the computer lab.

The center helps almost 100 veterans find work and shelter each year.

"These are veterans that we're pulling off the street, woods, homeless shelters and things of that nature, so for us to reach that number of 96 is a big success for us.", said program coordinator Keion Stella.

The center provides meals weekly and emergency food bags to any veterans in need.
