Trumbull County roads starting to ice over, police warning drivers

TRUMBULL CO., Ohio - The Trumbull County Sheriff's Department is warning drivers of icey roads this morning.

Multiple accidents have been reported because of roads freezing up.

Officials have confirmed minor crashes on the bypasses in Bazetta and Champion Townships.

Police have sent the Ohio Department of Transportation to monitor the State Route 82 overpass at State Route 11.

A squad has been sent to Route 82 westbound near State Route 45 for injuries. The extent of injuries has not been determined at this time.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Warren post, also reported a number of accidents along State Route 5.

Police say that most of the accidents reported have been minor and injuries were not reported.
